The first Nursing Home in the country to be awarded the Care Quality Commission "OUTSTANDING" rating

Following an unannounced inspection on the 6 th August 2014, Hartley Park was awarded the Outstanding rating. The Inspectors stated:

People were placed at the heart of the service. The service had clear values that they promoted to staff. Strong emphasis was placed on continuously striving to improve and recognised quality accreditation had been accomplished”

Investors in People

Investors in PeoplePutting our staff first has enabled Hartley Park Care Home to gain a nationally accredited award.  On the 25th September 2013 we were awarded the Investors in People Standard for the way we develop support and motivate our team.

Dementia Quality Mark

The Dementia Quality Mark (DQM) aims to reassure people choosing services that the care being given meets the needs of people with dementia. The DQM also sets standards, which those providing services can aspire to. Hartley Park achieved the Dementia Quality Mark on November 30 th 2012, just over a year after we opened and have maintained re-accreditation annually. The attainment of this standard is directly attributable to the drive and dedication of our excellent staff team. The DQM is an industry standard that is particularly helpful for families when selecting a care home.

Six Steps Accreditation

Accreditation successIn August 2012 a year after we opened, Nicola Kelly Home Manager and Thomas Crossfield Cotehele Unit Manager achieved both the individual and the organisation six steps accreditation. To achieve and maintain this end of life standard, organisations and individuals go through a rigorous initial assessment process with St Luke’s Hospice and annually thereafter. The six-step accreditation is now a local quality marker recognised by the local authority and those who achieve it are flagged up in Plymouth's online public directory. In 2015 we funded this training for two more of our Nurses to continue the drive for excellence.

Food Hygiene highest standard

5 Star Food Hygiene RatingThe food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority. There are six different food hygiene ratings (‘0’ up to ‘5’) - the top rating represents a ‘very good’ level of compliance with legal requirements.

In April 2013 following an unannounced inspection Jason Kelly our original Kitchen Manager and his team achieved the top rating of a 5.
In November 2015 Stuart Scoular our new Kitchen Manager and his team maintained this standard
